BREWERY HUYGHE WINS 5 NEW MEDALS AT WORLD BEER AWARDS

BREWERY HUYGHE WINS 5 NEW MEDALS
AT WORLD BEER AWARDS

Melle, 25 Aug 2021 – Last week Brewery Huyghe had plenty of reasons to celebrate. At the prestigious World Beer Awards (WBA), the brewer from Melle won no less than 5 medals: gold for Delirium Tremens and Delirium Red; silver for Blanche des Neiges and St. Idesbald Blond. Delirium Argentum was also named Country Winner in the IPA category, completing the celebration.

Also earlier this year Huyghe won several beer medals: at the Frankfurt International Trophy (DE) Delirium Tremens won a gold medal; at the Concours International de Lyon (FR) there was gold for Averbode and silver for Delirium Tremens and now they can add 4 more medals and a country winner to that list.

At the WBA Delirium Tremens won gold in the category Pale Beer - Belgian Style Strong. In the Red – Flavored Fruit & Vegetable category there was also a gold medal for Delirium Red. Blanche des Neiges won silver in the category Wheat Beer – Belgian Style Witbier and St Idesbald Blond also won silver in the category Pale Beer – Belgian Style Blonde.  In addition, Delirium Argentum came out on top as Country Winner in the IPA - American Style category.

It is clear that CEO Alain De Laet can be nothing but satisfied with these results: “Thanks to our unique recipes and excellent quality, we continue to win beer awards year after year at internationally renowned competitions. This has never been a goal as such, but all the more an acknowledgment and a reward for the hard work of our teams, day in and day out. It also shows that – despite the emergence of many other beer countries – Belgium remains an absolute top country in terms of beer brewing. And we are proud that as an independent, family-owned brewery we can still play a leading role in this.”
