Charles Leclef, the 5th generation owner of Het Anker, initiated a global acquisition procedure due to a lack of family succession. This strategic acquisition brings together two breweries with rich histories and complementary strengths, offering new growth opportunities in both Belgian and international markets.

Melle, June 6, 2024 - After the granting of a new environmental permit, Brewery Huyghe – worldwide known for Delirium Tremens and the pink elephant - is ready to roll out its investment plans of 50 million euros. These must ensure that the brewery can grow even further, become more sustainable and at the same time further boost beer tourism in its own region.

SPECIALTY BEERS ALSO CONTINUE TO SCORE INTERNATIONALLY: 9 MEDALS

After 2 difficult covid years, the brewery finally seems to be back at pre-corona level. What’s more, Huyghe seems to be heading for a record year in terms of turnover and volume by the end of 2022. And there is more good news to share: in recent months, the specialty beers of the Huyghe brewery have won no less than 9 medals. And that despite the growing number of brewers and beers worldwide and hence, an increasing competition. It looks like 2022 could become a real ‘grand cru’ year.
